Attendance News
Starting the first day of school, students who accumulate excessive numbers of absences will receive attendance letters. At 10 absences during one school year, excused or unexcused (including suspension) absences, the student will receive a warning letter and will meet with their respective counselor regarding attendance deficiency. At 15 absences during one school year, excused or unexcused (including suspension) absences, the student will be officially placed on attendance supervision. This entails the following:
1. The student and parent/guardian will meet with an administrator. A note from a licensed medical
practitioner is required to verify all additional absences for the remainder of the school year.
2. If a senior is absent from school for five additional days (20 total days) without the required medical
verification, the student will be ineligible for extracurricular activities (including participation in senior activities
and graduation) for the remainder of the school year. Any work permit issued by the school will be
withdrawn.
