Supply Chain & Logistics

The main focus in this program is to learn hands-on skills necessary to successfully work and survive in the warehousing and logistics industry. In the program, students will learn the various levels within a warehouse, forklift safety, inventory control, warehousing equipment, and skills to help them become better employees who will make great assets to any employer. Due to the importance of OSHA standards in the industry, this program strongly focuses on safety aspects, including warehouse safety, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, lockout/tag out, confined spaces, fire extinguisher safety, and safe operations of all equipment, including forklifts.

Many of our graduates who successfully complete the Supply Chain and Logistics Pathway are able to secure employment with one of our industry partners and move up the ranks quickly. 

Forklift Safety is a classroom and laboratory course that is designed to teach the skills needed to be successful in the logistics and warehousing industry, including transportation, freight, warehousing, delivery, and support needed to move goods from producers to consumers. Topics covered include the importance of workplace safety and proper operation of a forklift and other warehouse equipment according to OSHA standards and various company policies and procedures. This course will include hands-on activities within the school warehouses, forklift training area, textbook and internet materials, projects, research, and other assignments. It is a logistics course that is recommended for students interested in pursuing a career in the logistics and warehousing industry.

Whether you plan on driving a commercial truck as a career or you are looking for a way to pay for college or other training after high school, truck driving will provide you with that opportunity. It is possible for you to work your summers as a seasonal, local truck driver and make enough money to fund your yearly college tuition.
