Governing Board Elections

The Patterson Joint Unified School District will hold elections for four Governing Board Trustee Area seats as part of the November 3rd, 2026, General Election.

The candidate nomination period is July 13th through August 7th, 2026. Eligible candidates must be registered voters and meet the residency requirements for the Trustee Area they wish to represent.

Trustee Areas Up for Election

The following Trustee Areas will be on the November 3rd, 2026, General Election ballot:

  • Trustee Area 2
  • Trustee Area 4
  • Trustee Area 6
  • Trustee Area 7

What Does a School Board Member Do?

The community elects School Board Members to provide leadership and oversight of the District. Their responsibilities include:

  • Setting the District's vision, goals, and policies.
  • Adopting the annual budget.
  • Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent.
  • Making decisions on districtwide programs, facilities, and student success.
  • Representing the interests of students, families, staff, and the community.

School Board Members govern as one Board. Individual Trustees do not oversee the day-to-day operations of schools or supervise District employees.

Free meals for children may be available during the summer months through community locations participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
